CHAPTER 01
A stage to fully leverage my two strengths: language proficiency and accounting expertise.
Born and raised in Japan, I chose to study abroad to strengthen my English proficiency. I proceeded with my job search, focusing on two strengths I had developed: language proficiency and accounting skills. I examined a broad range of companies, without limiting myself to a specific industry. What drew me to SEGA SAMMY was not only its proactive corporate culture and a business model that brings diverse entertainment to the world, but also its commitment to providing “captivating experiences” to every employee. Since joining the company, I have primarily been responsible for managing Sammy’s accounts receivable and payable, gaining a real sense of the weight of responsibility that comes with handling financial matters. Coordinating with business partners and various internal departments to ensure accurate and timely payment processing is not always easy, but it is highly rewarding to apply the accounting knowledge I have acquired to real-world tasks. Additionally, I frequently participate in internal projects in addition to my main duties. Notably, I serve as the secretariat for the “Global Finance & Accounting Meeting,” an internal forum for sharing accounting information with overseas Group companies. In this role, I leverage my language skills, one of my strengths, to provide support.

“Let’s make plenty of meaningful mistakes.”
Because there is a culture that values people taking on challenges, I can give my best.I've only been with the company for about two years, but the biggest growth opportunity in my career so far has been my experience working on goodwill and intangible asset valuation for Rovio, the Finnish game company known for Angry Birds, which was acquired by the SEGA SAMMY Group. Collaborating with numerous stakeholders, including audit firms, external experts, and overseas Group companies such as Rovio, has been a continuous learning experience. It was challenging, as in addition to accounting, many situations required me to coordinate across cultures and to engage in highly specialized, professional communication. However, I feel that I have learned a great deal from these experiences.
SEGA SAMMY fosters a culture that embraces “making plenty of meaningful mistakes.” It values not just results, but the process of taking on challenges—creating an environment where you can give your best without fear of failure. This support is exactly why I can consistently take on challenges with a positive mindset. I also utilize the company’s global training programs and study daily to enhance my language skills, thereby facilitating my professional growth. My future goal is to become a bridge connecting overseas Group companies with the Japanese headquarters. I would like to support SEGA SAMMY's initiatives on the global stage while leveraging my own strengths to the fullest extent.
