I chose the company based on “who I want to work with” rather than “what I want to do.”
When I was a university student, I learned Aikido as a club activity. It was my first experience with martial arts, but when I took the plunge, I was blessed with the people around me and was able to enjoy the lessons. What I felt there was that “who you do it with” is more important than “what you do.”
Based on this experience, I began to focus on the atmosphere and corporate culture of the company when job hunting. I visited a wide range of companies in the infrastructure and security industries, but I also applied for jobs in the entertainment industry because I have always liked anime and games as a hobby. Among the companies, SEGA SAMMY provided a very comfortable selection process. Of course I was nervous, but I was able to talk about my hobbies and interests in the group discussions and interviews without feeling defensive. The rhythm of my conversations was in sync with those of the HR staff and many of the students around me who were also being interviewed were calm, which I thought reflected the personality of the company.
After joining the company, I felt at ease because the workplace was not stuffy and the senior staff in charge of training was very nice. I realized that the best way to work is in a fun environment.

With the support of the people around me and my own acquired acknowledge, I was able to contribute to improving our work efficiency.
was assigned to the Accounting Department and in my first year, I was in charge of payments. I was responsible for checking the payment applications from business departments and the employee applications for personal replacement expenses. Although I studied commerce at university, I was not competent in accounting, and I am not a detail-oriented person, so I made mistakes at first. I learned one by one from the people around me, and my work gradually improved. In my second year, I was assigned to close the nonconsolidated accounts of a group company, which was a tough transition because it was a different field from my previous work. However, I was reassured by my predecessor who said, “You can ask me as many questions as you like.” Currently, I am trying to gain knowledge by attending study sessions within the Accounting Department as well as outside seminars.
What I find most rewarding is when I am able to make proposals for business improvement. For example, using functions to streamline Excel work, or changing the flow and management method for collecting invoices. I was very pleased when I was able to improve our work efficiency by discussing improvement ideas with my colleagues.

I want to learn from my respected superiors and become a “hybrid” person.
In the future, I would like to deepen my knowledge of accounting and acquire English skills as an added bonus. Since SEGA SAMMY is expanding overseas, I have many opportunities to come into contact with English. As I started checking English disclosures and participating in meetings with people from group companies in the UK, I realized the necessity of English language skills, so I have been studying English conversation online on my own. Working from home, I can study before work hours, which makes it easy for me to continue learning.
As for my future vision, I think my ideal boss would be a “hybrid,” combining the good qualities of the bosses with whom I am familiar. There are well-liked people who listen carefully to their subordinates and proactively get involved by saying, “Let’s do it this way.” There are also assertive people who are willing to raise issues and improve the current situation. I would like to be a “hybrid” that combines the best of both worlds.
I want to build my career one step at a time, pass on what I have learned from my respected superiors, and eventually become someone who can be entrusted with the organization. That is my major goal for the future.
