Two New Titles Released in October Exceeded the Million Unit Mark on Their First Day of Sale! A Number of Promising Titles Will Continue to Appear

Metaphor: ReFantazio, the new game of our group company ATLUS, was released simultaneously worldwide on October 11, 2024, and on the same day, surpassed 1 million units in total worldwide sales (the number of shipped and download copies).
This title is an entirely new role-playing game designed by the creators of Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5. Set in a world where magic exists but which is threatened by the bizarrely shaped monsters called “Ningen (Humans),” the protagonist is tasked with the mission of breaking the deadly curse that has been placed on a prince (his childhood friend), participates in the tournament for the throne , and departs on a journey across the vast land with his partner. The epoch-making turn-based combat system with a blend of real-time action enables two types of battle to be enjoyed, one with speedy, exhilarating action and another that involves strategically exploiting weaknesses of enemies and brimming with tension.
The game has earned a high-evaluation METASCORE* of 94 on the overseas review aggregation website Metacritic, placing it among the top-class evaluations of games released in 2024. It has also been extremely well evaluated in customer reviews on the Steam platform, and further growth is expected in the future.

In SEGA’s Sonic series too, SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS released simultaneously worldwide on October 15, 2024, broke through 1 million unit sales mark for worldwide sales (total sales of physical and downloadable copies on all platforms) on the day of its release.
Steam customer reviews were “Overwhelmingly Positive,” with 97% choosing “Positive.” The game has METASCORE of 80 and the User Score* is 9.0 out of 10, showing the game has won a very high evaluation.
*User Score: a score on the Metacritic website, which is based on ratings by general public users.
The new game is a high-speed action adventure made into a set consisting of Sonic Generations that has new added features and can be enjoyed in Classic Sonic or Modern Sonic modes in speed-running various stages, and a completely new Shadow Generations in which the dark hero Shadow
In addition, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the third live action film in the series was released in US on December 20, 2024. Shadow, the dark hero of blackness, lands in Tokyo’s Shibuya, and a thrilling high-speed battle on the grandest scale in the series ensues with the Team Sonic.
It is also planned that this fiscal year will see the release of Sonic Rumble, the all-new multiplayer party game in Sonic series.
We will work to further improve recognition of the Sonic IP and expand the brand through SEGA’s transmedia strategy.
In Like a Dragon series, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, an action adventure game which features the popular character Goro Majima as the sole protagonist for the first time in the franchise, will be released on Friday, February 21, 2025.
In this way, in our Entertainment Contents business, we will continue on the back of the new October titles’ popularity to promote the transmedia strategy while further improving results.
Railroad Riches Casino Video Slot Machine a Big Hit in the U.S. Market!

The SEGA SAMMY Group established the Gaming Business as a new segment in FY2025/3 with the aim of making it the third pillar of its business, and casino gaming machines are selling well.
The Genesis Atmos®, a video slot cabinet developed by our group company Sega Sammy Creation Inc. and introduced to the U.S. market in January 2024, has shown strong unit sales and leasing figures, and is becoming increasingly popular.
In particular, Railroad RichesTM, which is compatible with the Genesis Atmos® cabinet, is demonstrating performance that considerably outshines the average utilization of other machines due to a design that catches the eye from afar and an attractive game system that does not stress its players. Backed by this high utilization, orders have far exceeded initial expectations, and preparations are being made for production increases. The strong performance of Railroad Riches is also contributing to building relationships and reinforcing touchpoints with casino operators.
In the Asian market, moreover, the standalone baccarat game machine Baccarat Maximum FortuneTM has been very well received, and we are considering introducing it in the U.S. in the future. Going forward, Sega Sammy Creation is moving to bring out new titles suitable to users in North America and Asia.
In addition, as the Group has already announced, procedures are underway to close the acquisition of two companies: GAN Limited, a developer of B2B platforms mainly for U.S. casino operators, and Stakelogic B.V., a company which operates a B2B iGaming content supplier business headquartered in Netherlands, with the aim of advancing into the online gaming market, centered on the U.S. iGaming market, which is expected to grow in the future.
In the future, we will generate synergies in the online gaming business by leveraging customer touchpoints established through the development of gaming machines such as Genesis Atmos and B2C knowledge accumulated at Paradise City and other locations. In doing so, we will continue to work on the establishment of the Gaming Business as the third pillar of our business.
