- Donation to the NPO REALs (Reach Alternatives) to prevent conflict
-
In September 2022, Sega Sammy Group donated funds to the certified NPO non-profit organization REALs (Reach Alternatives).
REALs works in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia to prevent conflict, terrorism, and social violence before they occur and to create societies where people can coexist, regardless of their values, religion, ethnicity, nationality, and gender. It also helps empower local people and build systems to prevent conflict, as well as social networks, so that those involved in conflicts can take the initiative to prevent and resolve them. Sega Sammy Group sympathized with REALs’ idea of “supporting communities and people living there to prevent conflict before it happens”. They provided support for preventing conflict in three slum areas in Kenya.
As an integrated entertainment company with stakeholders worldwide, we will continue to support the creation of a society without conflict and create emotional experiences to realize a society where people can enjoy entertainment with peace of mind.
- Humanitarian support for the conflict in Ukraine
-
The Sega Sammy Group is providing various forms of support to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
In March 2022, we issued a statement in collaboration with our overseas group companies, SEGA Europe Limited and SEGA of America, Inc., outlining our humanitarian assistance efforts, including raising funds and conducting a donation matching gift program for employees in our group companies both domestically and internationally ※.
Additionally, our group company Phoenix Resort is offering accommodations, food, and work opportunities to Ukrainian refugees evacuated from the conflict through their “Phoenix Seagaia Resort.” The Sega Sammy Group is hoping there is a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian conflict and for the safety and well-being of those affected by the crisis.
※Matching donations made by our group employees in Japan were donated to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency via Japan for UNHCR, a national partner of UNHCR in Japan, and Japan Platform (Specified Nonprofit Corporation).
